Romans
Lesson #5

Paul ends Chapter 5 by saying that where sin abounds grace much more abounds.

The question is asked, shall we continue in sin because of grace? (Romans 6: 1)

Paul was accused of teaching false doctrine. (Romans 3: 8)
       a. He taught the doctrine of imputation.
       b. He taught that grace is stronger than sin.

If you are dead to sin, how can you continue living in sin? (Romans 6: 2)

How do you become dead to sin? (Gal 2: 21   Romans 6: 6)

What part of us dies?
       Not the natural body.
       Not the spirit.
       Not the soul.
The Adamic nature - the old man - the body of sin dies, and we become freed from
       sin. Romans 6: 7)

We are crucified with him by the act of faith and repentance.

Burial always follows death. (Romans 4: 4)

Do we understand what happens at water baptism?
The burial of the old man.
The circumcision of the heart. (Col 2: 11, 12)
Total immersion. You have died to one life and started an entirely new one.

We have a choice (after baptism) as to whom we will yield our members. (Romans 6: 11)

God uses men - Sin uses men.

Sin will try to revive. The old man will try to come out of the casket.
