Valentine Banquet

WOW! what a beautiful night we had at our dinner for Valentine's Day.  Thank you to all of those that helped get the Family LIfe Center decorated so beautifully, and the food was just amazing.  This was one of the best nights we have had for our Valentine Dinner so far at the church.  We had lots of door prizes to give away, played some fun games, and laid out a plan on a new vision that we have for our church.  We want to say a special thank you to Tama for getting several of those for us, and we had others that donated items that we used also.

We did something special this year for the couples that have been married over 30 years.  Lenny printed a plaque with their names, wedding date, how many years married, and the part of the vows - "For better or worse, richer or poor, in sickness and in health, till death do us part", presented on Valentine's Day, 2012 - Christ Church.  Everyone loved them.  The years actually went from 30 years to 62 years of marriage. That is amazing.

We played a new game this year that was so fun to watch.  There was 2 people sitting across the table from each other, they were both blindfolded.  One person had a bib on to keep from messing up their clothes.  The other person had a tub of chocolate pudding and had to feed it to the other person.  Everyone around the table was telling the person which way to move to get the pudding in the mouth of the one they was feeding.  The gym was full of laughter while this game was going on.  As you can see, they got chocolate pudding all over their faces.  Poor Joe don't even like chocolate pudding, but he was a sport for paying this game.

The main theme for the dinner was, "Love and be Loved".  We wanted to show the church body how we can be more loving with the ones that are hurting in the church.  Be reading to those in the hospital, nursing homes, sick or just need some help.  We will have some baskets of snacks made and ready to take to the hospital when someone has to be admitted.  We had a sign up sheet for those that wanted to be a part of this team that will make sure this vision gets carried out like it should.  We also asked for people to start bringing in some wicker baskets for us to use.  If you have any questions about this, you can see Lisa Faver or Julia Kolmeyer.

If you missed the dinner, you truly missed a great time of fellowship with your brothers and sisters from our church.  We had a great time and there are already plans in the making for next years dinner.  So make plans on coming next year, you won't want to miss it.
